One day of giving.
Let's make it count for every sato & gato.
Join millions across the US giving to causes, like Animal Lighthouse Rescue, that they care deeply about.

About our mission
Donate today to save a life.
Every year we look forward to Giving Tuesday — it’s a powerful catalyst for change in the lives of our satos and gatos. It's a day when the collective spirit of generosity converges to make a tangible impact on Puerto Rico's vulnerable stray dog and cat population. Giving Tuesday isn't merely an opportunity for us to ask for your financial support. It’s a chance to amplify our shared commitment to and rally around these deserving souls. Each donation, no matter the size, gives us the opportunity to rescue, rehabilitate, and provide a second chance to the stray animals that we find and shelter. Join our cause this Giving Tuesday with your one-time or recurring donation that will help fund every step along our satos' and gatos’ journey to their forever home. Together, let's save as many lives as we can!
No ordinary Tuesday
Giving Tuesday reminds us of the importance of giving back during the holidays after Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Since 2012, Giving Tuesday has continued to gain momentum. In 2024, 36.1 million people participated in the US alone.

No ordinary sato
Stitch and his puppy sister Lilo were found by tourists on their way to the beach and then brought to our shelter for care. Mid-summer he met our visiting chairperson and several volunteers, who could tell he would be an amazing addition to someone’s family.
Stitch arrived in New York City soon after, ready to find his forever home. He lived with fosters and stayed at Camp Canine for several weeks, coming to adoption events around the city where he charmed potential families with his playful nature and treat-motivated quick learning of basic commands and behaviors.
Though it took a while, we knew we would find his perfect family — former ALR adopters who were ready to open their hearts and be so very patient as he adjusted to his new home. Now named Finn, he’s done so well in their care and with their diligent training, learning all his commands and regularly showing off his sweet silliness.
With their love and attention, Finn has become the family dog he was always meant to be! Congratulations Finn!
